Last updated 26 October 2026
This notice is issued under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it. It explains what personal data this website collects, why, how long it is kept, and the rights you have in relation to it.
In the language of the DPDP Act, we are the Data Fiduciary — we decide why and how your personal data is handled — and you are the Data Principal, the person the data is about.
1. Who we are

This website, ellampsystems.in, is operated by Ellamp Systems India. For any question about your personal data, contact our Grievance Officer at section 9 below.
2. Notice of what we collect and why
Section 5 of the DPDP Act requires us to tell you, in plain language, exactly what we collect and for what purpose. That is set out below.
| Personal data | Collected when | Purpose | Basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your name, company or organisation, email address, mobile number, and the content of your message | You submit an enquiry form, use a WhatsApp enquiry button, or share your details in the on-site assistant | To respond to your enquiry, to prepare a quotation for bus or rail interior systems, and to carry on the business correspondence that follows | Your consent, given when you submit the form. For an enquiry you yourself initiate, this is also a legitimate use under section 7(a) of the DPDP Act, being the purpose for which you voluntarily provided the data |
| Your IP address, browser identification, the page the enquiry came from, and the date and time | Automatically recorded with every enquiry | To keep the website secure, to detect and block automated abuse of the enquiry form, and to limit how often a single sender may submit | Legitimate use under section 7, and the reasonable security practices required by section 43A of the Information Technology Act, 2000 |
| Information about which pages are viewed | Only if you select “Accept analytics” in the cookie banner | To understand which parts of the site are useful and improve them | Your consent, which you may withdraw at any time |
We do not ask for, and request that you do not send through this website, financial account details, government identification numbers such as Aadhaar or PAN, or any sensitive personal information. Nothing on this site requires them.
3. Consent, and withdrawing it
Where we rely on your consent, you gave it by a clear affirmative act — submitting the enquiry form, or clicking Accept in the cookie banner. You may withdraw that consent at any time by writing to our Grievance Officer. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything lawfully done before you withdrew it, and we may still need to retain a record where another law requires it.
4. Who your data is shared with
Every enquiry submitted through this site is delivered to, and accessible by:
- business development staff of Ellamp Systems India;
- a named contact at PRETTL Venture Capital GmbH, a company within our group, who is copied on every enquiry as a matter of course for business development purposes;
- our website hosting provider, which stores the site and its database on our behalf as a Data Processor under contract.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
5. Where your data is stored and processed
The website and its database are hosted in India. Because Ellamp Systems India forms part of an Italian group, your enquiry may also be viewed by colleagues in Italy and elsewhere in the PRETTL Group in order to prepare a technical or commercial response.
Section 16 of the DPDP Act permits transfer of personal data outside India except to territories restricted by notification of the Central Government. We do not transfer personal data to any territory so restricted. Where data reaches the European Union, it also receives the protection of EU law there.
6. How long we keep it
Enquiry records are retained for 24 months from your last contact with us. At the end of that period they are deleted or anonymised, unless we have entered into a contract with you, or a longer period is required by Indian tax, company or contract law. In line with section 8(7) of the DPDP Act, we erase personal data once the purpose it was collected for is no longer being served and retention is not required by law.
7. Security
We apply reasonable security safeguards as required by section 8(5) of the DPDP Act. These include transmission of the site over HTTPS, storage of enquiries in an access-controlled database, use of parameterised database queries so that submitted text cannot alter our systems, rate limiting and automated-submission detection on the enquiry form, and restriction of access to enquiry records to the named staff above.
If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and each affected Data Principal as required by section 8(6).
8. Your rights as a Data Principal
Under Chapter III of the DPDP Act you have the right to:
- Access — obtain a summary of the personal data we hold about you, what we are doing with it, and the identities of those it has been shared with (section 11);
- Correction and erasure — have inaccurate or misleading data corrected, incomplete data completed, data updated, and data erased where it is no longer needed (section 12);
- Grievance redressal — use the complaint route at section 9 below before approaching the Board (section 13);
- Nomination — nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity (section 14).
You also have duties under section 15, including not raising false or frivolous complaints and providing authentic information when exercising the right to correction.
To exercise any of these rights, write to our Grievance Officer. We will respond within a reasonable period and in any event within the time prescribed under the Act.

Please write “DPDP request” in the subject line so that your message is routed correctly.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India in the manner provided under the DPDP Act.
10. Children
This is a business-to-business website addressed to vehicle manufacturers, operators and transport undertakings. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect the personal data of anyone under the age of eighteen. Section 9 of the DPDP Act prohibits processing a child's personal data without verifiable parental consent, and prohibits tracking or targeted advertising directed at children; we do neither. If you believe a child has provided personal data through this site, contact the Grievance Officer and it will be deleted.
11. Visitors from the European Union and United Kingdom
If you are in the EU or the UK, the General Data Protection Regulation may also apply to your data because our parent company is established in Italy. In that case you have the additional rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, and the right to complain to your national supervisory authority — in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali. Use the same contact at section 9 and tell us you are making a GDPR request.
12. Cookies
How this site uses cookies, and how to change your choice, is set out in our Cookie Policy.
13. Changes to this notice
If we change this notice we will update the date shown at the top of this page. Where a change materially affects how your personal data is handled, we will make that clear on the website.
